Pool Balls

Pool balls are an important part of the game of pool. Without them, you could not play the game at all. But do you know all there is to know about the pool ball or how it is used within the game? There is much to learn about this exciting pastime and it begins with the pool ball. The balls are used in every shot and every move taken in the game of pool. Without them, you simply could not have a game.

The pool ball holder is called the pool ball rack. This holds the balls in position and sets them up for the game to be played. Pool balls in the rack take their position and when you carefully remove the rack, they stay in place for the "break" which starts the game by scattering the balls across the table. Diameter of the pool ball is carefully measured to the standard to allow each ball to have the same measurements and dimensions. The smoothness of a pool ball also has a lot to do with how the game is played.

Each and every little factor of the ball comes into play while the game is going on. The ball itself is the main object of the game. You have to calculate exactly where to hit it, how hard to hit it and in what position and angle to get it to go in the pocket you want it to. This is a precise game that requires you to know as much as possible about the pool ball and how it will move on the table when hit.

Some people take their pool balls so seriously that they will clean and polish them before and after each game to ensure that they are in tip-top shape and that nothing effects their game due to the balls or damage or dirt on the pool balls.

Individual pool balls are all the same size and typically the same colors for each game although there have been some unique variations created over the years such as glow in the dark pool balls. When you learn about the different colors and numbers that are painted on the pool balls, you will understand how important they are to the game and how it is played. As you can see, you couldn’t have a game of pool without the important pool balls.
